I have been so busy that I totally forgot to do a roundup of August posts and now it’s time for the September summary. Where does the time go? I have written fewer posts lately because I have spent more hours working for a new client and I expect that to continue for a while. Susanne has been busy as well with work travel and family matters so some weeks. And Seth is working full time.
Having said that, we have entered the month of pumpkins and apples, spooks and ghosts, cooler days and colder nights. Canada geese are honking their way south and the wild turkeys are gathering in the backyard, pulling together the big flock that finds safety in numbers.
On Saturday night I gave a Dark Side of Boston tour for Boston By Foot to a group of young people from countries in Europe and South America who are studying languages here. Just to be on the safe side I packed a pair of gloves because it was damp and raw. I knew I would need them if the rain came down in earnest and I had to hold an umbrella.
As we walked, damp turned to mist, the mist turned to drizzle, and the temperature dropped. The kids had not dressed well for the weather and one girl complained that her hands were freezing so I loaned her my gloves. They all pulled coats and sweaters tighter and hung in there through the whole tour—a terrific group. But my hands were cold and pruney by the time I got into the car.
