Spring is a changeable thing in New England—it comes and goes on an unpredictable schedule. Today it will be in the 60s and 70s. It may snow on Sunday. On Monday, when I’ll be giving a private tour for Boston By Foot, temperatures are predicted to be in the 30s. Then back up, relatively speaking, into the 40s and 50s. I haven’t taken the snow tires off my car yet, just in case. I remember snowstorm that happened on May 8.
The annual spring fertility rituals are almost over. Green beer has been drunk and the St. Patrick’s Day parade is long over. Peeps have hatched and been eaten, along with chocolate bunnies. Monday is opening Day of the baseball season — just not in Boston. We have to wait until April 11 when the Orioles come to Fenway Park. But that gives us something to look forward to. And then there’s the RSA Conference arriving in Boston at the end of the month.
Last month, Susanne, Seth and I wrote regularly. I continued my two series on Boston: Hidden Gems and the Bronze Menagerie. Seth informed us all about the interactions between prescription drugs and nutritional supplements, and Susanne focused on life and culture. We haven’t been to the movies much because the spring shoulder season doesn’t offer quality films to attract us. (10 Cloverfield Lane is pretty good, though.)
Here, in alphabetical order by topic, is a roundup of March 2016 posts on The Next Phase Blog. Take a look and catch up on any you missed. If you’re curious about something, want to know more about a place in Boston, or have a question on cooking, health, etc., just post a comment. We’ll get back to you.
