Roundup of April 2015 Posts

Susanne and I kept to a narrower range of topics than usual last month but we still managed posts in five categories. Because we both have written often about our friends and families, I have created a category with that name into which these posts fit. You will find it in the list of categories to the right.

Now that spring is finally here, I’m writing in tee shirt and flip flops instead of turtleneck, fleece and wool socks. This morning I meditated with the screen door open so I could hear the birds. Then I watered my perennial garden for the first time. After a very (very) wet winter, spring has been fairly dry and watering restrictions are in effect. That means hand watering on specific days and either before 9:00 a.m. or after 5:00 p.m. The giant aliums were looking parched but the iris I planted two years ago finally has buds and I expect some beautiful flowers before too long.

Back Garden at Sauta Farm May 2015

The back garden this morning

I was reminded of my post on lessons my perennial garden has taught me. Still, I worry that winter could return next week if the thermometer takes one of its all-too-familiar plunges. Fingers crossed.
