I thought it would be fun to create a Halloween-themed quiz about Boston to test your knowledge of spooky, creepy, unusual, and downright incredible things that have happened in our capital city. Yes, even staid old Boston has had its share of unbelievable events.
Boston’s Haunted Buildings
You can find haunted buildings all over the city, but most of them don’t make the tour books or the ever-multiplying number of ghost tours. To find them, you have to talk to the people who work or live there — or experience a haunting yourself, of course.
I personally know of a haunted theater and a haunted house museum that aren’t documented. I not only saw a ghost in the Museum of Fine Arts but know someone else who did, too.
What that means is that you might not find the answers to the Boston Halloween Quiz in a book, or even a Google search. Not that you would even think of doing that.
The Boston Halloween Quiz
The Boston Halloween Quiz offers 10 questions from real historical events. You get five points for each correct answer. Here’s how to score your results:
- 5 – 15: Tourist
- 20 – 35: Resident
- 40 – 50: Expert
If you like spooky things, this quiz is right up your (dark and gloomy) alley. Even if you just like history, you will do okay. So, try the Boston Halloween Quiz and find out whether you’re a tourist, a resident, or an expert. How many answers can you get right?
Walking with Boston’s Ghosts
If you want to learn more about Boston’s haunted history, I recommend Haunted Boston’s walking tour, held well after dark, of course.
Also, to get the full Halloween experience, with ghosts, costumes, candy, and music, please take Boston By Foot’s Beacon Hill with a Boo walking tour. It’s only held once a year, on Halloween night, so sign up here for your spot in the tour.
