I have never used my blog to support an organization and thought a few times before doing so today. But my intentions are good and all that I am asking you to do is cast an online vote for an excellent cause.

What Lovin Spoonfuls Does

Lovin’ Spoonfuls is a food rescue organization located here in Boston. They recover and distribute “healthy perishable food that would otherwise be discarded.” So they do two things that I really support: feeding hungry people and keeping good food from going to waste. They deliver wholesome food, some of it prepared by fine chefs, to food banks and shelters around Boston.

Last year, my friend Alane and I (Yes, Aline and Alane) volunteered to work at their end-of-year tailgate party, clearing tables and scraping plates next to Boston Harbor on a cold, windy October night so Lovin’ Spoonfuls could raise thousands of dollars to support their mission.

Vote for Lovin Spoonfuls Today

What I’m asking you to do is much simpler and faster. You don’t even have to get up from your chair.

Today—and today only—Lovin’ Spoonfuls is one of five worthy organizations that Toyota has included in their 100 Cars for Good program. This program is awarding 100 vehicles over the course of the next 50 days to 100 non-profit organizations based on votes from the public.

If Lovin’ Spoonfuls gets the most votes today, they will receive a brand-new Toyota Tundra. They will convert it to a refrigerated box truck to expand their food rescue operations throughout the Greater Boston area. That means more people will get fed and they will eat well.

How to Vote

It’s easy, just go to 100 Cars for Good and click on the box for Lovin’ Spoonfuls. Or got to the Lovin’ Spoonfuls page and click on the green box at the bottom. That’s it.

Don’t hesitate. Today’s the only day to vote, so pleeeesssee do it right now.  Then ask your friends to vote, too.
